Skycap Donates Quad Copters for “Heart Of Belize” Project

Recently the team had a call from Steve and Pete from Skycap, with the great news that they would like to donate two Unmanned Aerial Vehicles to the “Heart of Belize” Project.

Richard and Jason attended the training at the SKYCAP training airfield at Wisley. Pete Cullen from Skycap, put the team through the basics of flying an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle and the rules and regulations that go with these technologies. I can report that we didnt have any fun at all!!! Cheesy grins where visible all day!! I can also report that we didnt crash any of the 3 platforms that we had the pleasure to fly!! Thanks to Pete’s excellent instruction we came away feeling pretty confident. (famous last words!)

The vehicles will be used by the Forest Rangers in Belize, from the Friends for Conservation and Development (FCD). The Phantom Vision quadcopters have been kindly donated by Steve Roest the Managing Director of Skycap UK, a specilalist UAV (Drone) company. On behalf of Rafael and my team I would like to passon my sincere thanks to him and the guys at Skycap for their donation.
I feel sure that Rafael and the Team at FCD will find them really useful in the fight against the illegal logging activities that are currently taking place in the Chiquibul National Park.
